Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Chief Paul Philipps and Morris Plains Police Chief Scott Thompson announce Stephen Corcoran, 45, of Morris Plains, was indicted today after an investigation revealed that he allegedly showed a male friend child pornography. Defendant was arrested on January 20, 2012 after allegedly showing the witness child pornography in October of 2011. The witness was 18 years old at the time. An investigation into this matter was launched in November of 2011 by Detective Carolina Moreno of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Detective Dan Cicala of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department and Sergeant Jason Kohn of the Morris Plains Police Department. As a result of that investigation, the witness was interviewed and provided information that the defendant had allegedly distributed and possessed child pornography.

Defendant was indicted on one count of Second Degree Distribution of Child Pornography and ten counts of Fourth Degree Possession of Child Pornography.

Acting Prosecutor Knapp thanks the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department, the Morris Plains Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit, whose efforts contributed to this result.
