On July 15, 2019, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp, First Assistant Prosecutor Tom Zelante, Captain Steve Ortiz, and Detective Supervisor Patrick LaGuerre joined the Morristown Police Department and Morris Township Police Department for their Coffee with a Cop event at SmartWorld Coffee in Morristown. The program was organized as an opportunity for the community to meet with their local members of law enforcement over a cup of coffee. Morris County residents had the chance to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in their community.
Prosecutor Knapp said, The Morris County Prosecutor's Office will continue to support community policing initiatives, such as Coffee with a Cop. It is important for our residents to build strong relationships with the members of law enforcement who serve in their community and this gives everyone an opportunity to meet in a social environment.
