Morris County Prosecutor's Office Employees Hold Informational Human Trafficking Program

On March 19, 2019, Morris County Prosecutor's Office Assistant Prosecutor Laura Magnone and Detective Supervisor Carolina Moreno provided an educational program on Human Trafficking for approximately twenty Morris County employees. The two hour program was held at the Morris County Office of Temporary Assistance.

Assistant Prosecutor Magnone and Detective Supervisor Moreno's presentation covered the warning signs of human trafficking, where human trafficking may commonly occur, and the actions the Morris County Prosecutor's Office takes to investigate and prosecute human trafficking crimes. Following the presentation, a round-table discussion was held to foster the working relationships the Morris County Prosecutor's Office has with other agencies in the county. Those in attendance were able to raise questions and concerns about human trafficking, as well as discuss what tactics they believe work in their respective agencies.

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said, Preventing human trafficking and finding justice for the victims of human trafficking is of the utmost importance to our office. We must all work together to put an end to this modern-day slavery.
