Morris County Prosecutor Announces Promotion of Support Staff Member to Detective

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp and Acting Chief of Investigations Chris Kimker announce the hiring and swearing in of Mariangel B. Ruggia as a Morris County Prosecutor's Office Detective.

Detective Ruggia was officially sworn in as a Morris County Prosecutor's Office Detective on April 8, 2019. She will be assigned to the General Investigations Unit within the Courts and Administration Division. Detective Ruggia has been a member of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office since 2015, and she has worked as a member of the Support Staff and as a Bilingual Transcriber. Detective Ruggia's interest in a career in law enforcement began in her childhood. She studied Criminal Justice at the College of St. Elizabeth, where she enrolled in the Law Enforcement Career Development Workshop. Through this program, Detective Ruggia was introduced to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and began her career here.

Prosecutor Knapp said, Detective Ruggia's capabilities as a bilingual detective are an important asset to our agency. We are very pleased to promote a dedicated staff member such as Detective Ruggia and expect she will continue doing outstanding work.
