Morris Law Enforcement Issues Statement on Recent Drone Activity

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon, Morris Plains Police Chief / Morris County Police Chief’s Association President Michael Koroski, and the Morris County Office of Emergency Management issue a joint public statement on recent drone activity observed in Morris County:

Last night, November 18, 2024, drone activity was observed by law enforcement members on patrol in Morris County.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Morris County Office of Emergency Management, Morris County municipal police departments, along with our federal and state law enforcement partners, are aware of this activity, and will continue to coordinate, monitor, and investigate the drone activity.

There is no known threat to public safety.

This joint statement is being issued in response to rumors about the drone activity spreading on social media. We encourage the public to be mindful that what they read online may not be accurate.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact their local police department directly, and NOT 911, unless it is an emergency.
