Montville Man Charged With Sexual Assault and Terroristic Threats

Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Montville Police Chief Richard Cook  announce that Jason A. Condit, 31 years old, of Montville, New Jersey, has been charged with Second Degree Sexual Assault and Third Degree Terroristic Threats.
The defendant and the victim were in a dating relationship in March of 2013 when defendant allegedly forcibly engaged in an act of sexual penetration upon the victim and threatened to kill her.
Condit was arrested on December 3, 2013 following an investigation conducted by the Montville Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.  The investigation was led by Detective Marshall Wang of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and Detective Eric Brauchle of the Montville Police Department.
The Honorable Stuart A. Minkowitz, P.J.Cr. set bail at $50,000 no 10 percent, cash, bond or property. The defendant was unable to post bail and was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility.
The investigation is active and ongoing.  No other information is being released at this time.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation.  Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until he or she has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
