Members of Morris County Prosecutor's Office Hold Educational Program for Students at Dover High School
Published on April 05, 2019
On April 5, 2019, Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Samantha DeNegri and Detective Supervisor Patrick LaGuerre of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office provided an informational assembly for all students at Dover High School. The presentation focused on safe internet practices, bias crimes and bias incidents, and included representatives from the Dover Police Department including Deputy Chief Justin Gabrys, Sergeant Anthony Scinto, and Detective Jonathan Cachola.
This program was one of many that Supervising Assistant Prosecutor DeNegri and Detective Supervisor LaGuerre have conducted at schools throughout Morris County. They stressed the importance of teaching students the impact of making poor choices as a juvenile may have later in their lives. The students were instructed on the consequences that can occur from committing a bias crime, the differences between a bias crime and a bias incident, and the importance of practicing safe internet skills. Following the presentation, students were able to ask any questions about what they learned today.
Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said, Our office works closely with educators throughout Morris County. This cohesiveness plays an important role in ensuring the younger generations in our community are properly educated and prepared for all of their future endeavors.
