Man Charged with Murder in Connection with Death at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Morris County Prosecutor's Office Acting Chief of Investigations Chris Kimker, and New Jersey State Police Superintendent Patrick J. Callahan announce the arrest of Rashid Davis, 28 years old, last known address Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital, Morris Plains, NJ.
On December 31, 2019, Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital staff contacted law enforcement regarding a death at the hospital. It is alleged that hospital staff encountered Rashid Davis in a hallway with blood on his hand. Staff subsequently located the victim in Davis' room lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The cause of death was determined to be multiple stab wounds to the neck area and manner of death is homicide. The investigation remains ongoing and the identity of the deceased individual will not be released at this time.
Davis has been charged by warrant-complaint with first degree Murder, third degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes, and fourth degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in connection to the incident. He remains in custody and is pending a first appearance before a judge of the superior court.
