Lincoln Park Man Charged with Sexual Assault

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Chief Mark West of the Lincoln Park Police Department announce the arrest of Nicola S. Granata, age 33, of Lincoln Park, New Jersey, on charges of second degree Sexual Assault and fourth degree Criminal Sexual Contact.
Nicola S. Granata was charged with one count of Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(1), a crime of the second degree, and two (2) counts of Criminal Sexual Contact in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b, a crime of the fourth degree.
The victim reported to law enforcement that she went to defendant's residence as a customer to have her hair styled by the defendant. The defendant then allegedly engaged in acts of non-consensual sexual contact and penetration against the victim.
On today's date, the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, J.S.C., set bail for Mr. Granata in the amount of $40,000 with a 10% option, with an additional condition of no contact with the victim.
Prosecutor Knapp would like to thank the Lincoln Park Police Department, specifically, Detective/Sergeant Joseph Zammit and Detective Michael Bono, as well as the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until he is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
