LAUNCH OF REVISED MCPO WEBSITE

Acting Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announced the launching today of the newly renovated website for the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.  The new website was developed with a one-stop shopping concept in mind, allowing for easier access and navigation by website visitors.  The website design was conceived by Prosecutor's Office personnel based upon both the needs of the public it serves and the priorities of the Office itself.  The actual design and implementation of the website was accomplished through the Morris County Office of Public Information.  The website will be maintained and continually updated through a mutual effort of both agencies.
Acting Prosecutor Knapp stated, It is vital that we remain current with and utilize to the utmost, all available technology to interact with the public we serve at the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.  I believe that by doing so, it will significantly increase our ability to serve the needs of the public while also enhancing our own capabilities.
To assist website visitors, the website has a number of links to such areas as Internal Affairs complaints and information, community affairs, victim/witness services, crime prevention, and employment.  The website also offers details about the functions of the Prosecutor's Office, contact information for Office units, local police departments and press releases.  Specific sections for Internal Affairs complaints and information, crime prevention and requests for public records are also available in Spanish.
In an effort to enhance the investigative resources of the Prosecutor's Office, the website also features links that solicit the public's assistance in such areas as cold case investigations, wanted and missing persons and ongoing investigations.  Website visitors will also have the ability to submit crime tips through the use of an e-mail utility.
The newly renovated website is a "responsive" site that will scale to work on mobile devices such as an iPad tablet or a smart-phone, greatly enhancing user interaction and hopefully resulting in enhanced results.
The Morris County Website may be accessed at http://www.morrisprosecutor.org/.
