Landing Man Charged With Death by Auto

Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Roxbury Township Police Chief James Simonetti announce that Samuel R. Generelli, 27 years old, of Landing, New Jersey, has been charged with Second Degree Death by Auto.
At approximately 6:43 p.m., on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, members of the Roxbury Township Police Department responded to the area of 1903 Route 46 West in Ledgewood, New Jersey. Responding police units located a male with apparent injuries who had been struck by a motor vehicle. The male was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. The victim's name is presently being withheld. The vehicle that struck the victim was engulfed in flames due to damage from the collision. The sole occupant of the vehicle was Samuel R. Generelli, 27 years old, of Landing, New Jersey.
Generelli was charged by way of Warrant-Complaint with Death by Auto, a crime of the second degree, in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:11-5.
The Honorable Stuart A. Minkowitz, P.J.Cr. set bail in the amount of $100,000 cash, bond or property, with additional conditions set by the Court.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until he or she has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
