Indictment Returned against Man Arrested in connection with November 2013 Fatal Crash that occurred on Route 80

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announces that Jose Almanzar, age 47, with a last known address in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, has been indicted on charges of Death by Auto, Assault by Auto (9 Counts) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child related to a fatal crash that occurred on November 28, 2013 on Route 80 in Mount Olive.
On October 22, 2015, an indictment was returned against Jose Almanzar, charging him with one count of Death by Auto/Vehicular Homicide (second degree), two counts of Assault by Auto (third degree), seven counts of Assault by Auto (fourth degree), and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (third degree).    The case was investigated by the New Jersey State Police and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit.
The charges and allegations contained in the indictment are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
