2018 Prosecutors' College Convenes

Law enforcement officials from all 21 counties of New Jersey, including New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal and all 21 County Prosecutors, met in Atlantic City this past weekend to further their legal education, as well as discuss ongoing issues throughout the state. The training program was held from November 18th through November 20th at the Borgata Hotel & Casino as part of the annual College of the County Prosecutors Association of New Jersey (CPANJ).

Throughout the three days, fourteen Continuing Legal Education classes were available for attendees. Topics for these classes included Prosecutorial Ethics, Effective Trial Strategies, New Firearms Legislation, Victim's Rights, and Implicit Bias. Chief Assistant Prosecutor of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, John McNamara, Jr., served on a panel focused on trial strategies.

CPANJ also installed their Executive Board for 2018-2019 during the College. After serving the 2017-2018 term as President, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp has been succeeded by Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch as the CPANJ President. Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri will serve as 1st Vice President, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez will serve as 2nd Vice President, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni will serve as Secretary, and Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina will serve as Treasurer.

Prosecutor Knapp said, It was an honor to serve as the CPANJ President over the past year. We successfully accomplished many things throughout the State during that time, and I am looking forward to working with Prosecutor Koch during his tenure.
