*Too far to send troops, the 1st California consisted of men from Pennsylvania, paid a bounty to enlist in service to California.

At 7:00 AM on April 12, 2024, the Office of Planning and Preservation released a list of Morris County Civil War veterans. 7:00 AM coincided wit the exact moment the United States Army returned fire on Ft. Sumter, and the start of the Civil War on the 163rd anniversary.
