Surrogate Darling With Jay Thomson

Morris County Surrogate Heather Darling recently led an insightful seminar at the Morris County Library, focusing on estate planning topics, including the serious implications of dying without a will. Special guest Jay Thomson, President of Benson Thomson Agency, Inc., provided key insights into surety bonds, which further enriched the discussion with valuable information for attendees. "Around 40% of estate cases that come through the Morris County Surrogate’s Court are administrations, meaning someone passed without a will. These conversations are crucial to help families avoid unnecessary complications," stated Surrogate Darling.

The seminar was made accessible to a diverse audience through a multi-platform approach, allowing in-person attendance, webinar participation, and live streaming, so residents could join in the format most convenient for them. Surrogate Darling’s commitment to making important information readily available through various channels underscores her dedication to serving the citizens of Morris County and ensuring that resources from the Surrogate's Office are easily accessible to all.
