Under direction of the Shade Tree Division, performs semi-skilled and manual work to assist in pruning and or removing of various trees along Morris County right of ways and Morris County owned property for the County of Morris Shade Tree Division.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Learns to climb trees using a ladder, climbing hooks and belts, and other manual or mechanical equipment used to aid in performing tree maintenance tasks.

Must be able to work above the ground on heights up to 80 feet.

Properly learns to utilize all tree related tools (saws and chippers) with proper safety standards.  Work zone safety standards are also taught and practiced.

Qualifications:

1-2 years related tree experience preferred.

Applicants must possess a valid CDL class B license.  Successful candidate will salt/plow county roads during the winter months in addition to regular tree work.  If candidate does not have a CDL, the title of Laborer 1 will be requested

Applicants must be able to read and write English.

Location:

Reporting garage location is 420 West Hanover Avenue, Morris Township, adjacent to the Morris View Healthcare Facility.

Salary:

Annual salary for Tree Maintenance Worker 1 is $35,127 ($16.82 per hour) and is not negotiable. Applicants w/out a CDL can request Laborer 1 title. Salary is $31,223 ($15.00 per hour) and is not negotiable.
