The Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Corrections is seeking a full-time Plumber to perform general plumbing work involved in installation and maintenance of plumbing facilities and systems at the Morris County Correctional Facility.  The appointee will work with various machine and hand tools common to the plumbing trade; may prepare or work from sketches, plans, and specifications in accordance with the plumbing code or accepted trade practices.

Routine tasks will include repairs of plumbing systems and other general maintenance as directed, escorting contractors throughout the correctional facility and utilizing various computer-based electronic recording and information systems.  Will be responsible for assisting other maintenance staff with salting and snow removal of the parking lot and walkways. Must be available for on-call responsibilities after hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.


  • Three (3) years of experience in plumbing work involving a variety of layout, installation, and maintenance tasks.

NOTE:  A valid Master Plumber’s license issued by the New Jersey State Board of Examiners of Master Plumbing may be substituted for (3) three years of related experience.

  • Must have the ability to read, write and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
  • Must possess a valid NJ Driver’s License at all times.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
