Events in Morristown and Rockaway Township
Representatives of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office will speak at two events tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 28, in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day.
Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Prosecutor’s Office Chief Assistant Prosecutor Seabury will be first appear at the 4th annual Overdose Awareness Day to be held on the Morristown Green for a program that will run from 1-to-3 p.m.
In the evening, Chief Assistant Prosecutor Seabury will make a special presentation at St. Simons Church in Rockaway Township. This program will run from 6-9- p.m.
At both programs, he will discuss the heroin and opioid epidemic, as well as the measures taken by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office to combat the epidemic.
Both programs, which are free of open to the public, should provide a good opportunity to learn more about the efforts being taken to save lives and combat addiction throughout Stigma-Free Morris County.
International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event held on Aug. 31 each year to raise awareness of overdose issues and reduce the stigma of a drug-related deaths. It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends who remember those who have died or had a permanent injury as a result of drug overdose.
