Emergency Bridge Repairs Done in Washington Twp. and Nearly Complete in Parsippany
A 1.3-mile milling and paving project is expected to start next week on Boulevard in Pequannock, while drainage, sidewalk and bridge approach work is underway on two major road projects in Wharton – on East & West Dewey Avenue and North Main Street.
In addition, drainage improvement work is ongoing on Comly Road/Ryerson Road in Lincoln Park and Pequannock, as part of the board of Freeholders aggressive targeting of some 30 miles of county roads for upgrading this summer.

As part of that effort, contractors have completed a 4.4-mile resurfacing and improvement project on North Road and Dover Chester Road in Chester Township and Randolph, with line striping and some punch list items to be completed shortly.
Three other road projects are lining up to start in the near future: sections of North Passaic Road in Chatham Borough and Florham Park, New Vernon Road in Long Hill, and Dover-Rockaway Road in Rockaway Township.
Meanwhile, county bridge crews have completed emergency repairs to a damaged Naughright Road bridge in Washington Township, and should finish repairs to an Intervale Road culvert in Parsippany by the end of this week.
Emergency county bridge repair projects in Parsippany and Washington Township have been added to a list of infrastructure work going on across Morris County this month on some heavily traveled roads and a couple of smaller but important county bridges.
Also, regularly scheduled repairs continue on the Black River Road bridge in Washington Township and the Crane Road bridge in Mountain Lakes.
“The county is working closely with impacted towns on traffic flow, detours and work hours to ensure minimum disruption to local residents and businesses,’’ said Morris County Freeholder Stephen Shaw, who toured the North Road/Dover Chester Road project last week.
The county road work is in addition to local and state road projects. See the complete list: https://morriscountynj.gov/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/2019-Road-Projects.pdf
