Littleton Road Project in Parsippany Heading Towards Completion
A flurry of county road projects are underway across Morris County, with pre-paving construction work starting this week on Dover Chester Road and North Road in Randolph and Chester townships, and East and West Dewey Road in Wharton, and the Boulevard in Pequannock.
Paving is ongoing on South Morris Street in Dover, is nearing completion on Littleton Road in Parsippany, and should start soon on Comly Road in Lincoln Park. Line painting on South Street and Woodland Avenue in Morris Township should be completed this week –weather permitting.
In addition, bids should be awarded soon for resurfacing of a portion of North Passaic Avenue in Chatham Borough and Florham Park, and the bid process will start in the next two weeks on the Dover-Rockaway Road project in Rockaway Township and New Vernon Road in Long Hill.
These projects are part of Morris County’s 2019 countywide road resurfacing effort that has targeted some 30 miles of the county’s vital road network for improvements this year.
Road closures and detours will be signed and coordinated with the local police. Hours of work also are coordinated with each municipality to best meet the needs of their residents.
“We are working hard to get these projects done as quickly as possible, so we can ensure the high quality of county roads in Morris County,’’ said Freeholder Stephen Shaw. “We continue to work closely with affected towns and their police to handle traffic flow, detours and work hours, and we ask residents to be patient as we get this work done for you.’’

The county work is in addition to local and state road-improvement projects.
Motorists should expect delays. Bicyclists are urged to seek alternate routes.
