Report Details Job Opportunities, Pay, Degree Requirements and more
A new report has been created by the Morris-Sussex-Warren Workforce Development Board in collaboration with the Morris County Chamber of Commerce to identify employer industry sectors, employment, and occupational trends in Morris County from now to 2026.
The report shows that access to top employment talent is key to retaining a healthy economy in Morris County.
Towards that end, the Morris-Sussex-Warren Workforce Development Board, an independent agency which directs federal and state funding to workforce development programs and oversees the One-Stop Career Centers, is collaborating with the Morris County Economic Development Corporation to strategically align workforce and economic development.
The 2019 Morris County Talent Pipeline Report, jointly issued by the Morris-Sussex-Warren Workforce Development Board and the Morris County Economic Development Corporation, identifies the dominant industry sectors, occupations within these sectors and talent pipeline projections.
The 2019 report is designed as the first step in the creation of a Comprehensive Workforce Plan to ensure that Morris County can retain and attract human capital to support businesses in the county, a goal which is identified in the Morris County Strategic Plan.
The Workforce Development Board will continue to work with the Morris County Economic Development Corporation and educational institutions in the development of a Comprehensive Workforce Plan to ensure that there is a workforce in Morris County that is prepared to meet employer needs.
As a next step, the Morris-Sussex-Warren Workforce Development Board and the Morris County Economic Development Corporation are recruiting employer champions, business leaders who will contribute to a talent development plan based on the identification of employers’ needs, and educational programs required to meet the talent demand in Morris County.
Some of the content in the new report overlaps with the Strategic Plan and provides more recent data and projections. The documents and other relevant information also can be found on the Morris-Sussex-Warren Workforce Development Board website under the Resources tab, at the bottom of the page.
