Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Investigations Stephen F. Wilson, Jr. and  Washington Township Police Chief Jeffrey Almer  confirm the investigation of a fire that occurred early this morning on East Mill Road in the Long Valley section of Washington Township, destroying a single family residence.Morris Prosecutor: Washington Township Early Morning Fire Investigation

At about 3 a.m., police and fire officials were dispatched to East Mill Road on a report of a residential fire. Responders located an active fire in a dwelling. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the fire has resulted in no reported injuries. The investigation remains ongoing.

East Mill Road had to be closed between Coleman and Bartley Roads due to the blaze.
