The Morris County Library Concert Series returns on Sunday, Feb. 24 with a Musical Celebration of African-American History Month. Featured performers will be Al-Jabril Muhammad (baritone) performing Spirituals accompanied by Darren O’Neill, guitar; and City Winds Piano Trio performing the music of William Grant Still, Charles Lucky Roberts, and Scott Joplin.
The series continues on Sunday, March 31 with Arctic 5 Woodwind Quintet: Also known as the “Wind Quintet from Sweden,” Arctic 5 performs the standard classical pieces for quintet written by composers such as Nielsen, Ligeti, Haydn, and Reicha, modern works, and popular music from different genres.
The spring concert series concludes on Sunday, April 28 with a special concert by legendary pianist and local hero, Rio Clemente. Maestro Clemente will perform a solo retrospective of some of his favorite jazz compositions performed over his long career. *Reservation required.*
All performances will be held in the Public Meeting Room and are free of charge. Performances will run from 3-4PM. Doors will open at 2:30PM. Reception to follow each program.
