Bring Your Carved Pumpkin to Morristown Next Sunday for Morris Arts Event
Join Morris Arts for an evening of Halloween fun for all ages in Morristown beginning at 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28.
Bring your carved pumpkin for a mass pumpkin lighting at dusk at the reflecting pond at the Vail Mansion. Plus, enjoy live jazz, an art workshop, a luminary parade and much more!
The event starts at 5 p.m. with a gathering of pumpkins around the reflecting pool and live jazz by The Lintet, a New Jersey/New York based jazz ensemble led by Taiwanese-American trombonist Peter Lin, whose playing was reviewed by Downbeat Magazine as “solid, fluid, and smooth.” The band’s repertoire includes popular jazz standards, soul classics, exciting originals, and even special renditions of Taiwanese folk songs.
From 5:30 – 6:15 p.m., take a workshop with renowned artist Dan Fenelon, who works with communities to create one-of-a-kind art projects. In keeping with the Halloween theme, participants can decorate creatures and masks, culminating with Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty leading a luminary parade.
At 6:15 p.m., the pumpkin illumination begins.
