Wharton’s Terrific Annual Celebration Adds the Morris County History Fair
This Saturday, celebrate and learn about history at the Morris County History Fair held in conjunction with Wharton’s Canal Day Music & Craft Festival.
Now in its 43rd year, this old-time country fair celebrates the Morris Canal and its contribution to the development of the communities along its banks.
Entertainment will include 10 musical acts on two stages, free kayak rides on the canal, 100 fine arts and crafts vendors, historical displays, food trucks, and seven reenactment groups. Stick around for fireworks in town after dark.
Canal history buffs can take a narrated boat and walking tour of the Morris Canal, with a visit to the newly restored Lock 2 East.
Chat with reenactors who will portray President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln.
