Hanover Township Selected for 2017 Municipal Partner Economic Development Award

Morris County EDC: 26th Annual Partners in Economic Development Awards Ceremony Set for March 16The Morris County Economic Development Corporation will hold its 26th Annual Partners in Economic Development Awards Luncheon on Friday, March 16 in Florham Park.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. William DeRosa, Chief of Oncology for Summit Medical Group’s MD Anderson Cancer Center.

DeRosa will address Summit Medical’s business model of developing a facility in Florham Park that brings world-class, multidisciplinary oncology services covering all aspects of cancer care to patients through their partnership with MD Anderson, which is the nation’s leading cancer center.

Prior to the luncheon, there will be a panel presentation about development in Morris County. including representatives from Langan, UPS, Onyx Equities and Rockefeller Group.

In addition, Real Estate Awards for 2017 transactions will be presented at the event in various categories:

  • Office: Dan Loughlin & Scott Lesh for Barclays in Whippany;
  • Industrial Flex: Jeffrey Fulton & Ed Schein of Team Resources for Farren International in Roxbury;
  • Retail: Jason Pierson, of Pierson Commercial Real Estate, for 24 Hour Fitness Worldwide in Parsippany;
  • Business Attraction Award: Both Marc Rosenberg of Cushman & Wakefield and the Rockefeller Group for Summit Medical Group’s MD Anderson Cancer Center in Florham Park;
  • Business Retention Award: Zurich, in Parsippany;
  • Business Expansion Award: Arconic, in Dover;
  • Non-profit partner: MorrisTech MeetUp.
  • Municipal EDC Award: Hanover Township Economic Development Advisory Committee.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled that the Morris County Economic Development Corporation is recognizing them for their outstanding work.”

Among the Advisory Committee’s top accomplishments in 2017 was the creation and public roll-out of “Hanover 2026,” a community development blueprint for Hanover Township’s 350th anniversary.

The presentation was the culmination of months of work on the part of EDAC’s volunteers to develop a comprehensive, strategic economic development program that aspires to leverage Hanover’s strengths, realize its opportunities, and confront (where possible) and mitigate weaknesses and threats.

The awards event will be held at the Wyndham Hamilton Park, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.  The morning panel will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
