The Morris County Prosecutors Office yesterday hosted a Northern New Jersey training program for more than over 150 law enforcement and public safety professionals at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy in Parsippany.

Morris Prosecutor Hosts Critical Training Hosts Program for Law Enforcement:The program was presented by the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP), Federal Bureau of Investigation, and New Jersey State Police. It covered several important topics including Domestic Terrorism, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Homegrown Violent Extremists, and current threat assessments.

Numerous local, state and federal law enforcement professionals and other public safety personnel received more than four hours of critical instruction on these issues. Morris County Prosecutor's logo

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Homeland Security Unit coordinated the program along with the state Office of Homeland Security.

“We are indebted to the Office of Homeland Security for selecting Morris County for this critically important training,” said Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, who delivered opening remarks at the event. “Law enforcement and the public must remain vigilant to the ongoing threat to public safety by violent and extremist groups.”
