CCM Hosts Hour of Code on Dec. 2 — Don’t Just Use Technology, Create It
The County College of Morris Department of Information Technologies and Computer Science Club will host an Hour of Code, an annual global movement to expose people to the wonders and creativity of computer coding. To date, more than 460 million people have participated worldwide.
The Hour of Code is an introduction to computer science, designed to demystify coding and to show that anybody can learn the basics. Three sessions will be offered: Android App Development, Block Coding and Cyber Coding.
All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary.
The event is free and open to the public; however, reservations are required. Reserve a spot at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hour-of-code-2017-tickets-39822515215.
Computer science experience is in high demand, with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting that there will be one million more computing jobs than students in 2020. It is a top paying field and computer programming jobs are growing at twice the rate of the national average.
