EVENT IS THIS SUNDAY
The Wharton Municipal Alliance is hosting a 5K Camouflage Color Run on Sunday, Sept. 24. This year’s run is dedicated to the men and women now serving or who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
An obstacle course will be part of this year’s walk/run. The obstacle course will be run by the U.S. Army National Guard. Participation in the obstacle course is optional. There also is a one-mile Fun Walk.
The American Legion Post 91 Color Guard will be on hand for opening ceremonies. The Post also has invited all participants to join them at the post for hot dogs and birch beer afterwards.
All proceeds from the run are used to help fund drug-and alcohol-free events our middle schools in Rockaway Township, Rockaway Borough, Denville and Wharton, as well as both Morris Hills High School and Morris Knolls High School.
