A Program Providing Positive Recreational Activities for Kids

Group of happy children in NJ DEP t-shirtsOn Saturday, June 10, the Morris County Park Police is hosting a youth fishing tournament at Sunrise Lake in Lewis Morris County Park in Morris Township from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

The event, sponsored by the New Jersey DEP’s Division of Fish and Wildlife, and is part of their program called, “Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs.”

The goal of this nationally recognized program is to encourage children to avoid drug and alcohol usage by providing them with alternative, recreational activities, such as learning to fish and appreciating aquatic and environmental resources, all while gaining positive life skills.
