Park Commission Joins with Whole Foods on Beehives Fundraiser

Beehive at Fosterfields

The ‘buzz’ about this 5 Percent Day is that the funds will be used for a honeybee initiative that complements the historic beehives that were established on this farm by the original owners. It also will help support national and local efforts to save the honeybees.

The initiative includes planting a flower garden to provide the habitat for newly established beehives. The new garden and beehives will be incorporated into several Park Commission programs to be offered to educate people about bees and the food cycle.

Please spread the word to friends and family, and help make this fundraiser a stinging success! Please share on Facebook and Twitter, and with neighbors and organizations.
