picture1The Morris County Park Police once again are seeking donations of toys to be distributed during the holiday season to needy children of all ages to help make their holiday a bit brighter.

This toy drive, which was started in 2002 by Sgt. Timmy Abline, has grown in to a major annual donation program in Morris County. Now held in memory of the late Sgt. Albine, the annual program encompasses his vision of providing a touch of happiness to children who are in need.

Morris County residents are asked to donate a new toy and drop it off at any of one of the four locations:

  • Morris County Park Police Headquarters,  300 Mendham Rd., Morris Township
  • Haggerty Education Center, at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, 353 E. Hanover Ave., Morris Township
  • Mennen Sports Arena, 161 E. Hanover Ave., Morris Township
Park Police Hold Annual

Park Police Ptl. John Eckert, Chief Gabriele Di Pietro, and Lt. Steven Ferraioli stand in front of collected toys at Park Police headquarters in Morris Township on Dec. 22, 2016.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of Morris County residents, and with the assistance of the Morris County Park Commission, Morristown-Beard School, and Exxon’s Retired Executives program, the Park Police collected and donated thousands of toys.

“It is a privilege to continue the work started by Tim Abline and a joy to help make the holiday season brighter for children and families,” said program coordinator, Lt. Steve Ferraioli, of the Morris County Park Police. “With everyone’s help, we’ll do our best to help meet the needs of all our underserved children.”
