Morris Prosecutor: Mt. Olive Man Charged in Second Case of Human Trafficking

Additional human trafficking and promoting prostitution charges have been filed against Michael Keenan, 23, of Mount Olive in connection with a second 17-year-old girl, it was announced today by Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Investigations John Speirs, Mt. Olive Police Chief Stephen Beecher and, Washington Township Police Chief Jeffrey Almer.

Keenan was arrested and charged on Thursday with one count each of Human Trafficking, Promoting Prostitution, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

He had been charged last month with Human Trafficking and Promoting Prostitution, for acts involving a first 17 year old female. During the course of that investigation, detectives learned of an additional 17 year old victim. The second victim also reported that Keenan drove her to hotels in Mount Olive to engage in prostitution and would then collect a portion of the proceeds for

Bail was set in this second matter by Superior Court Judge Catherine Enright at $250,000, with no 10 percent bail option.
