mcvtsThe Morris County Vocational School District will hold Information Sessions for its Academy Program on the week of Nov. 14, with eighth grade students and their parents or guardians encouraged to find out about  this unique high school experience.

Interested eighth grade students are welcome to attend to learn about the application process, admission criteria and tour the facilities.

Information sessions for all Academies located at the Morris County School of Technology, which is located at 400 East Main St, Denville, will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, at 10 a.m. They include: Computer and Information Sciences, Culinary Arts, Design, Education and Learning, Finance and International Business, Health Care Sciences, Law & Public Safety, Sports Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Visual & Performing Arts (Dance or Multimedia).



Other sessions include:

  • Academy for Mathematics, Science and Engineering, Monday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria at Morris Hills High School in Rockaway.
  • Academy for Environmental Science, Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria at Jefferson High School in Jefferson.
  • Academy for Biotechnology, Wednesday, Nov. 16, 6 p.m., in the auditorium at Mt. Lakes High School in Mt. Lakes.

The Academies offer students a unique high school experience that combines comprehensive academics with career and technical education (academy) classes. An 8th grade student who submits an application should choose an academy based on career interest.

Eighth Graders have until December 2 to apply. Applications are available for completion via online application at, click Admissions, Full Time Academy.
