Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Rockaway Township Police Chief Martin McParland, Jr. announce that Kyriakos Serghides, 35, of Rockaway Borough, was indicted today on multiple charges related to incidents that are alleged to have occurred in August and September of 2015 in Rockaway Township.
It is alleged that on Aug. 28, 2015, while at the Rockaway Townsquare mall, Serghides sexually abused two separate boys in restrooms within the mall. It is also alleged that on Sept. 10, 2015, Serghides threatened and then attempted to leave the Target Store in Rockaway Township with an unrelated 5-year old boy.
Serghides was arrested on Sept 11, 2015 on charges related to these three incidents.
The defendant was indicted on two counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault; three counts of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; one count of Second Degree Attempted Kidnapping; one count of Second Degree Luring; one count of Second Degree Attempted Sexual Assault; one count of Third Degree Terroristic Threats; one count of Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes; and one count of Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
