Statement by the Board of Freeholders:
The Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders offer their deepest sympathy to the family of the Honorable Reginald Stanton, the long-time and well respected jurist who served on the bench in Morris County with honor for three decades, and who regrettably passed away today.
Judge Stanton demonstrated a tireless work ethic, and maintained a fair, independent and impartial court, and served with great distinction, first as a Superior Court Judge and then from 1985 to 2003 as the Superior Court Assignment Judge in Morris County.
He commanded the respect of all of those who entered his courtroom by treating defendants and plaintiffs with intelligence and dignity, serving as a model of excellence and integrity in our court system during his extraordinary judicial career.
Judge Stanton’s presence always will be felt – in a very positive way — in Courtroom Number One at the Morris County Courthouse.
(The flag will be lowered in front of the Morris County Courthouse in Judge Stanton’s honor)
