A Message from the Morris County Office of Emergency Management:
Cold temperatures and wind chill: Several rounds of colder air will be moving into the region starting later tonight. After today, temperatures will remain below freezing until early next week.
Strong northwesterly winds will accompany the colder air, resulting in some very cold wind chill values. The coldest temperatures and wind chills will be this weekend. Temperatures will be dropping during the daytime Saturday as another round of Arctic air moves into the region.
Low temperatures Saturday night will range from minus 12 up in the Poconos to near 5 above near the Atlantic Coast. Wind chills will be even colder, ranging from minus 30 in the Poconos to minus 10 in the south. Wind chill temperatures this cold will be dangerous to people and pets. Property damage due to frozen water pipes is also likely when temperatures get this cold.
