Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Dover Police Director Dominick Saldida announce the arrest of Michael Medici, 29, of Rockaway, and Colleen McDonough, 32, of Rockaway Township, on charges related to an incident that resulted in serious bodily injury to a Dover police officer.
On Saturday, Feb. 6, at 4 p.m. Dover Police were dispatched to a call concerning multiple individuals sleeping in a vehicle. Police officers arrived on scene and approached the vehicle.
Upon the officer’s approach, the driver of the vehicle began to drive over the curb and onto the sidewalk, striking and injuring the officer. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop and the occupants were detained.
The officer was transported to Morristown Medical Center where he was treated for injuries that were not life threatening.
Medici has been charged with various crimes related to this incident, including aggravated assault and assault by auto.
McDonough also has been charged with crimes related to this incident, including possession of a controlled dangerous substance, throwing bodily fluids at a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest.
Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
