Hazardous Weather Discussion
A Blizzard Warning was extended today to include Northwest N.J. and remains in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday. A High Wind Warning is posted for coastal areas until midnight tonight.
The Coastal Flood Warning is in effect until noon Sunday, and additional flooding is likely with the morning high tide. Forecast snow totals as of this afternoon have trended upward again. Totals of 18-30” or higher are possible, as noted below.
Impacts to New Jersey
Coastal flooding remains a hazard through Sunday’s high tide with minor to moderate flooding possible. Snow will begin to taper off this evening, but additional accumulations extend the risk of power outages and dangerous travel statewide. Cold temperatures increase risk of hypothermia for people and pets outside.
There is no travel ban at this time, but please stay off the roads and allow the plows and salt trucks to do their jobs. Always know the latest weather information for your area.
