The Morris County Freeholders have declared March as American Red Cross Month in Morris County, to honor the dedication and hard work of the Red Cross staff and volunteers who are always available to help county residents and others who are in great need.
A resolution presented at the Wednesday, March 25 freeholder meeting, to Claudio Perez, Holly Lenhardt and Bob Newkirk of the North Jersey Region of the American Red Cross, by Freeholder Director Kathy DeFillippo, stated:
Whereas, March is traditionally designated as American Red Cross Month – a special time to recognize and thank our everyday heroes who reach out to people in need, and
Whereas , American Red Cross heroes help disaster victims recover, give blood to help hospital patients, brighten the day of injured military service veterans, and step forward to help persons who are having heart attacks, and
Whereas, We would like to remember our heroes here in Morris County who help people in need, and who work tirelessly to assist their neighbors when they need a helping hand, and
Whereas, Across the country and around the world, the American Red Cross responds to disasters; when injured service members end up in a hospital far from home, the American Red Cross offers comfort; when hospital patients need blood, American Red Cross donors help them; when a lifeguard jumps in the water to save a drowning child or someone steps up to save a heart attack victim, the American red Cross is there, and
Whereas, We dedicate the month of March to all of those who support the American Red Cross mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies; and we understand that our community depends on the American Red Cross, which relies on donations of time, money and blood to fulfill its humanitarian mission;
Now Therefore, I, Kathryn A. DeFillippo, Director of the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders, proclaim March 2015 as American Red Cross Month in Morris County.
