The Center for Business and Technology at County College of Morris has been named the leading provider of no-cost skills training for employees through a partnership developed by the New Jersey Department of Labor with the New Jersey Business and Industry Association and the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development.
The distinction was given to the college’s CBT by the New Jersey Council of County Colleges for providing the largest number of classes in a single year.
Morris County employers have received more training opportunities and deliveries than any other section of the state, as a result of the work of CBT.
Area employers are encouraged to join the 200-plus companies that have experienced the value of free business skills training for their employees and its positive impact on their businesses by taking advantage of CBT’s offerings.
Results-oriented computer and communications skills classes are available now through June 30 at CCM’s Randolph campus, 214 Center Grove Road.
Computer classes include basic to advanced Word, Excel and Outlook. Communications Skills training covers such topics as Critical Thinking Skills, Public Speaking and High-Powered Customer Service.
Classes run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and are scheduled on weekdays. Employers can register employees for as many classes as they deem necessary. The employees must be employed at least 20 hours a week and paid their usual hourly rate while in training. For the computer training, employees also should have a basic knowledge of Windows and how to use a keyboard and mouse.
