The Morris County Department of Planning & Development will conduct a public meeting Dec. 11 on the county’s East Hanover Avenue Corridor Traffic Study.

The county initiated the study of East Hanover Avenue from Whippany Road to
Speedwell Avenue-Route 202 to identify and coordinate roadway improvements that would alleviate the traffic impacts from proposed development along the corridor.

The state Department of Transportation provided the funding for the consultant, Stantec, who prepared the draft report that will be presented at the public meeting.

Municipal officials from Hanover, Morris Township and Morris Plains, the three communities within the corridor, were part of a technical committee that provided information to assist the consultant in developing the draft report.

The Dec. 11 public meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 102 A & B at the Morris County Public Safety Academy, 500 West Hanover Ave., Parsippany. Maps and plans will be on display during the public meeting, with a presentation on the report starting promptly at 7:15 p.m. followed by a question and answer period.
