Morris County Division on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans and United Way of Northern New Jersey Caregivers Coalition are inviting area residents with a disability or a caregiver of a loved one with a disability to attend a public forum on Tuesday, October 16 to share their insights about the state of public transportation.

The forum will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the lower level conference room at the Morris County Department of Human Services, 340 West Hanover Avenue in Morris Township.

Transportation is an important issue for many residents of Morris County, but for those living with a disability it can be even more of a challenge. Transportation is essential for leading an independent life. The forum is designed to provide input as the County is undertaking a review of its transportation plan.

It is critical that Morris County residents with disabilities share their public transportation experiences, good and bad, with county officials as they review the transportation plan. Without this type of input, it’s hard to know what’s working and what’s needed.

The forum is jointly sponsored by the Morris County Department of Human Services and United Way of Northern New Jersey.

Individuals with disabilities in need of transportation to attend the forum can call
MAPS at (888) 282-6277.

Advance registration to provide public testimony is suggested. For more information or to register, email [email protected] or call (973) 993-1160, ext. 139.
