The Morris County Division on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans wants county
residents to know that this is Fall Prevention Awareness Week in New Jersey.

According to the State Department of Health , it is estimated that in the United States one third of seniors over the age of 65 and one half of seniors over the age of 80 will fall each year, resulting in medical costs exceeding $27 billion annually.

Designating this as Fall Prevention Awareness Week is meant to highlight fall hazards and increase awareness about how to prevent and reduce falls.
