John Cesaro is the newest member of the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Cesaro, a former Parsippany Councilman, was selected by the county Republican committee at a convention June 12 to complete the unexpired term of former Freeholder Gene Feyl, who resigned last month to become executive director of the New Jersey Highlands Council.

Cesaro will fill the vacancy until the unexpired term runs out at the end of the year.  He is also one of the candidates running in November for one of three, three-year seats on the freeholder board.

Cesaro was a member of the Parsippany Township Council from January 2006 to June 13 of this year when he resigned from the governing body.  He served as Parsippany Council President from 2008-2009.

As a freeholder, Cesaro has been named to the budget subcommittee.
