The Morris County Division on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans reminds us that this is Older Americans Month.

May is set aside each year to honor and recognize older Americans for the contributions they make to our families, communities and society, said Theresa Davis, Director of the Division.

This year’s Older Americans Month theme is “Never Too Old to Play,” to encourage older Americans to stay engaged, active and involved in their own lives and in their communities.

Davis said a number of activities are planned for the month, including a Senior Art Show Awards ceremony on May 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the Morris County Library, co-sponsored by Volunteers for Morris County; the Living Treasures Awards at the St. Francis Residential Community in Denville on May 17 at 1:30 p.m., co-sponsored by St. Francis; AARP and the Morris County Council of Older Persons Organizations; and the County College Celebrates Seniors on May 25 at 8:30 a.m. at the County College of Morris in Randolph.
