Morris County’s 24th Annual Recycling Awards Dinner will be held Friday, Nov. 4 at the Hanover Manor, 16 Eagle Rock Ave., in East Hanover.

“Recycling: It’s in the Cards,” is the theme of this year’s event sponsored by the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority.

The MUA plans to use the dinner to honor a number of individuals, businesses, municipalities, civic, educational and other groups for their contributions toward waste reduction, reuse, recycling, the purchase and use of recycled products and/or litter abatement.

Shari Mendelson will be the guest artist at this year’s dinner. Mendelson, a resident of Brooklyn, NY, uses “found” plastic bottles to create sculptures that reference ancient art. Her sculptures were referred to in a June 24, 2010, New York Times article as “bubbly and precious-looking.”

Tickets for the dinner, which begins with a cash bar cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m.,
are $39 per person.

Tickets or more information may be obtained by calling the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority at 973-285-8395.
