The Morris County Library’s series of free Career Resource Seminars continues in October. The sessions are part of the library’s ongoing seminars for job seekers that are held at the library, 30 E. Hanover Ave., in Whippany, said Lynne Olver, library director.
The first session, Online Job Applications, will be conducted Monday, Oct. 3, from noon to 1:30 p.m., and will focus on everything a person needs to know about applying for jobs online with a walkthrough a sample online job application.
Company Research for Job Seekers is the name of a seminar to be given Tuesday, Oct. 11 from noon to 1:30 p.m. This session will provide a crash course in researching employers and will cover such subjects as how to locate company profiles and financial data, obtaining information on products and services and identifying the hiring managers.
Olver said an Internet Job Search Tips seminar Oct. 17 from noon to 1:30 p.m. is a strategy session that will focus on the practical aspects of searching for jobs on the Internet including security issues and tips to facilitate a job search.
LinkedIn will be the topic of a seminar Monday, Oct. 31, from noon to 1:30 p.m. According to Olver, attendees will learn the basics of LinkedIn, a popular and fast growing social network for job seekers and companies.
