The Morris County Office of Temporary Assistance reminds Morris County residents receiving benefits under the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program that they have until Thursday to apply for replacement benefits for their food if the food was destroyed by Hurricane Irene.
Current Morris County SNAP recipients must complete an Affidavit of Loss and submit it to the Office of Temporary Assistance no later than Sept. 22.
The SNAP recipient must state how and when the food that was purchased using SNAP benefits was destroyed, and estimate its value.
The Affidavit of Loss is available online in English and in Spanish at http://www.morrishumanservices.org/hs/ota.asp#fs.
An individual may complete the form at home, print it and bring it with them to the OTA office, 340 West Hanover Avenue in Morristown, or they may fill out the form when they arrive at the OTA office.
Additional information may be obtained by contacting the Morris County Office of Temporary Assistance at 973-326-7800.
