Morris County has prepared an updated Transit Guide to encourage the use of mass transportation and provide commuters with information about the public transportation options that are available within Morris County and the region.
The Transit Guide includes a map of bus and rail routes in the county as well as profiles of municipal transit options available within the county’s 39 towns.
Telephone numbers and Web site addresses for NJ Transit buses and trains and Lakeland, NJ Transit-Morris County Local (formerly Morris Metro) and Community Coach bus lines are included, as is information about park & ride lots, ridesharing programs, Dial-A-Ride services, personalized travel alerts and transportation for senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the county.
Web addresses and telephone numbers are also listed for AMTRAK; Newark Liberty, Kennedy and LaGuardia airports; PATH; the New York City subway system; and NY Waterway ferry service.
The Morris County Transit Guide is provided free of charge by the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
An electronic version of the Morris County Transit Guide has been posted on the Morris County Division of Transportation website, www.MorrisDOT.org. Copies of the Transit Guide can also be ordered from the website or by calling the Division of Transportation at (973) 829-8101.
